ACM’s Arts Education Program aims to promote arts education as a tool for individual, social and community
development, and has facilitated policy dialogue on key issues related to arts education. ACM’s Arts Education Program conducts arts education projects that promoted critical thinking, creativeness, life skills development and self confidence in young Mongolians.
In 2008 the Arts Education Program is focused on enhancing the capacity of artists, secondary school art teachers and community workers to implement an arts education after school programs using art as a tool to promote critical thinking, creativeness, life skills development and self confidence in young Mongolians.
Feature projects of ACM’s annual Arts Education Program include: “We Can-We Are Talented” video art training at the “Red Ger” media art center, “Art for Change”, after school arts education project, “Focus on Kids” black and white photography project, “My History-My Culture” CD. Additionally, the Culture Naadam ‘Nomadic Spirit Revives’ was the inaugural event to promote nomadic culture and traditions to local and international audiences to enhance the scope and quality of the arts and culture services during Naadam Festival (Mongolia’s national holiday), and to build the capacity of artists, art organizations, and cultural festival organizers.
From 2008, the program joined efforts with the Cultural Heritage Education Program to promote use of cultural heritage as form of social and individual development and build capacity of museum curators on developing heritage education curriculums at Bulgan, Tuv provinces and Zanabazar Fine Arts museums, using museum objects as educational tools.
In 2008 the Arts Education Program implemented 7 arts and heritage education projects, involving 3000 children. Arts education curriculums were developed in different arts fields and 45 professional arts educators and museum workers, 15 artists, 25 arts teachers and 10 community workers gained knowledge on arts education curriculum writing and interactive teaching methodologies. Also relationships were enhanced between the 19 arts, education sectors, businesses and government organizations.

Arts education products and curriculas

ACM has developed arts education products aimed to help youth and children toobtain knowledge on history, tradition, arts and culture through interesting, innovative and creative arts education products.
Arts education projects in the years of 2004-2008

Over the course of 2007, the Arts Education program delivered eight arts education training courses and projects which directly involved 450 children and reached out to youth and children all over the Mongolia through the “My History-My Culture” TV series. Arts education curricula were developed across a range of artforms and five professional arts educators, 25 artists, 15 arts teachers and 15 community workers gained knowledge in arts education curriculum writing and interactive teaching methodologies. Also, relationships were enhanced between the 10 arts, education, business and government organizations involved.

Throughout 2007, ACM’s Arts Education program continued to conduct arts education projects that promote critical thinking, creativeness, life skills development and self confidence in young Mongolians.
In 2007, ACM’s Arts Education program maintained the I Can Do It project for disabled children and the Focus on Kids black and white photography project, both of which provide vulnerable children with access to the creative and artistic process. The My History-My Culture TV series also continued to broadcast heritage and history education programs nationwide. Additionally, ACM pursued its activities within the formal education system, and developed further the Arts Plus after school arts education project, which promotes interactive teaching methods and creative thinking.
In 2003-2006, the Arts Education Program implemented 14 arts education training workshops and projects, involving 6000 children and reaching out to over 150000 children. Arts education curriculums were developed in different arts fields, 20 professional arts educators, 25 artists, 40 arts teachers and 70 community workers gained knowledge on arts education curriculum writing and interactive teaching methodologies. Also relationships were enhanced between about 30 arts, education sector, business and government organizations involved.
