The Arts Council of Mongolia (ACM) and Mongolian University of Culture and Arts (MUCA) jointly initiated a one-day festival entitled “My city – My culture”, dedicated to the 365th anniversary of Ulaanbaatar. It was held on June 1, 2004, International Children’s Day.
The goals of the festival was to enhance the role of culture in serving local communities, enhance the city’s economic welfare and contribute to the education of its children and increase access of the entire community to the arts.
The festival took place on Juulchin Street (former Urt Tsagaan) and had several components at 10 different stations, including public performances, interactive games, the creation of arts pieces involving almost 5000 people and an arts, books and crafts fair of local artists and art students.
