2003-2007 Organizational Grants Competition

Every year the ACM conducts the Grants Competitions to support the innovative projects of arts and culture organizations which contribute for the sustainable development of Mongolian arts and culture and allow artists and art managers to participate in international events.

Each year the ACM Grants and Program Committees and Board define the fields of projects with the selection criteria.

Based on competitive selection criteria, the ACM Board awards grants of US$1000-5000 to support organizational arts and culture-related projects, and grants of US$500-3000 to allow artists and art managers to participate in international events and professional development opportunities and to cover fees to join international art networks or to subscribe to professional periodicals and books.

In 2003-2007 ACM awarded grants to over 85 organizations and around 75 artists and art managers with the total amount of 240,408 USD. Within the framework of the Grants competition, a training ‘How to develop grants application’ for grant applicants is conducted.

Fields:

  • To strengthen capacity building of arts and cultural professional organizations and to support international collaboration.
  • To promote a role of art and culture in human and social development.

Within the framework of the Grants Competition, a total of 42 applications were received. The selection was made according to the new criteria and the Artist development Committee and ACM Board awarded $32,595 USD to 19 arts and culture organizations, artists, art managers.

Fields:

  • To support projects that strengthen the capacity of central and regional arts and cultural professional organizations and its workers.

ACM received a total of 44 project proposals of which 25 artists and arts and cultural organizations were selected as recipients of $43,000 in grants.

Fields:

  • To promote partnerships of art and education institutions to promote after school arts education programs for secondary school students and
  • To assist in the development of new arts and cultural products for cultural organizations

Amount of grants: $ 500-3 000
ACM announced the 2005 Organizational Grant Competition in December, 2004, aiming to support partnerships of art and education institutions to promote after school arts education programs for secondary school students and to assist in the development of new cultural tourism products for cultural organizations and to promote partnerships in this area.

ACM Board awarded to 24 arts and cultural organizations and education team with a total amount of $ 41 310

2004
Fields:

  • Public art education & audience development
  • Development and distribution of innovative forms of marketing packages and information promotion resources of art institutions and artists which include well-integrated and designed marketing packages with clear marketing and distribution plans. The marketing package should include the following components:
  • Organization of international arts events in Mongolia
  • Translation, printing and distribution of Mongolian literature and poetry in to foreign languages

Amount of grants: $ 500-4 000
Each year the ACM Program and Grants Committees define priority areas and objective selection guidelines for the competition. In 2004 ACM awarded grants to 22 organizations with the total amount of US$ 39 200.

Fields:

  • Arts education activities

  • Capacity building in marketing and promotion

Amount of grants: $ 500-3 000
In 2003, the ACM conducted two Annual Grants Competitions, one for organizations and one for individuals, to support their work and development. Based on competitive selection criteria, the ACM Board awarded grants to support organizational arts and culture-related projects, to allow artists and art managers to participate in international events, to develop marketing materials, and to cover fees to join international art networks or to subscribe to professional periodicals and books. Grants totaling over $33 000 were given to 15 art organizations to participate in international art festivals, presentations, and short term professional and management trainings and residency programs in Russia, USA, Korea, Italy and Japan. The list of winners includes a team of eight artists from the National Drama Theater to participate in the International Theater Festival, Mason, Korea; three museum curators from Museum of Mongolian National History and Modern Art Gallery to attend museum management workshops in Russia and the USA; the Roaring Hooves International Music Festival to conduct its activities; and a number of organizations to create and run arts education programs.
