ACM-US, a sister organization to ACM, does extensive fundraising in North America in support for Mongolian arts and culture and has very close ties with the Arts Council. Although the two organizations are independent from each other, ACM-US contracts ACM to implement projects and grants in Mongolia and is an excellent source of income for ACM programs. Working with ACM-US also fulfills the mission of ACM to increase awareness of Mongolian arts and culture worldwide. ACM provides the daily program and secretarial assistance to the ACM-US, the 501c3 organization in US.
Throughout the year in 2006, ACM-US raised funds of 101 132 USD (including 62887 USD in cash and 38245 in-kind donation) including the funding for the Tumen ekh tour to North America in 2006. Working with ACM-US also fulfills the mission of ACM to increase awareness of Mongolian arts and culture worldwide.
In 2007, the ACM-US supported the nine-month Fellowship Program of ACM aimed to empower emerging cultural leaders through enhancing their leadership, management and marketing skills, and deepening their understanding about cultural policy, arts advocacy, and arts education issues. This first year of ACM’s Fellowship Program was very successful, both in the trainings and in fundraising.
In 2008, the nine-month program will focus on building
awareness and understanding amongst emerging Mongolian arts leaders. The program will emphasize broader cultural, historical, economical, and social issues of Mongolian society through a range of interactions with local and international arts and community representatives, policy makers, artists, and academics.
ACM-US also supported the ‘Monastery Mapping Documentation’ project of ACM, which aimed to ensure the preservation and conservation of Mongolia’s intangible heritage by compilation of a systematic and comprehensive database of heritage sites and relevant oral history.

Dwight Gee, President, Arts Council of Mongolia-US
“Mongolia’s remarkable cultural life is crucial to the country’s future. It is a source of pride for her people – a compelling reason for them to remain in Mongolia, to invest their lives and talents in the growing society and economy. The arts in Mongolia are also a treasure for the world that no visitor to the country can afford to miss. ACM is an invaluable partner for Americans interested in strengthening and promoting the country’s arts and arts organizations at home and abroad. I can think of no more rewarding way to invest my volunteer time. The accomplishments of ACM during its first five years are a model for nongovernmental organizations anywhere.”
